On Tickle Brits gathering has a certain definition. A gathering is an organised play party. There are three types of gathering: closed, semi-open invitation and open. At all of these events there is no pressure to participate in the tickling: the gatherings are aimed to be informal and relaxed – more of an opportunity.

The first incarnations of the gatherings on Tickle Brits were the B.A.S.T.s which took place in members’ homes and were closed. By closed I mean they weren’t advertised on the forum and invitations were sent out to those people the organisers wanted there. There have been three B.A.S.T.s, the last one in July 2006.

The current incarnation of the gatherings are the Gatherings, which take place in a dungeon hired for the day. These are semi-open invitation and advertised on Tickle Brits, with a first-come first-served system, with consideration for ler/lee and female/male ratio.

There has also been Beginners Gatherings, which are run to give people with little or no experience an insight into practical considerations and techniques they can use during tickle play, a chance to meet other members face-to-face and a chance to tickle/be tickled by other members. So far this has been closed, but hopefully it will become semi-open in the future.

The present set up for a gathering is: everyone sits in the dungeon room and chats while one or more people are tied to the equipment and tickled by one or more people for as long as they want or the ticklers keep going. Drinks and snacks have been provided at all of them so far, as have tickle tools for those people who want them. The gathering tends to take place over at least 6 hours, with some people arriving later, or having to leave earlier because of travel constraints.

So far no open gatherings have been held because of constraints. These include the number of people wanting to come compared to the amount of space available and lack of Dungeon Monitors (experienced people to supervise) among other considerations.

In the future Tickle Brits wants to make gatherings open to more people, in a wider range of locations.
