There are a wide range of markets and events going on all over the UK on a regular basis. By and large these break down into three main categories:

1. 1)Munches / Social Meetings
   

2. 2)Play Parties / Clubs
   

3. 3)Markets
   

There can of course be cross over between these categories but most events will fit into one or more of them. Munches are just the same for the rest of the fetish scene as they are for the tickle community - social events where you can meet your fellow community members, get to know them, talk about shared fetishes and (hopefully) have a good time. Most munches are plain clothes events so make sure to check with the organiser before turning up in a leather harness and leash.

Play parties / Clubs are largely the same as tickle gatherings offering an opportunity to play in a controlled environment usually with a wide range of equipment and at least a couple of Dungeon Masters / Mistresses available to demonstrate equipment and make sure everyone sticks to the rules. Some parties are general admittance and others are by invite only, again you’ll need to check with the organisers. Most will have a set of house rules and these can vary from place to place so make sure you check in advance.

Finally we have Markets. These are much as you’d expect, events focused around bringing as many vendors together as possible for your shopping pleasure. A typical market may offer vendors dealing in everything from floggers and crops to rubber wear, custom tailoring and bondage furniture. One of the big advantages of these events over, say, ordering on-line is that the vendors themselves are usually very friendly and helpful, which can be a huge benefit to people exploring a particular fetish for the first time.

Markets are an excellent way to get some exposure to the fetish scene as they’re usually very well attended and you’ll see examples of most fetish wear, toys and interests as you walk around. There’s also something very attractive about being able to get your hands on a particular piece of equipment or clothing you’ve read about on-line as the texture and weight can give you a real insight even on such a brief impression.
